Culturing Ascites-derived Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
First, 20 mL of ascites was added to 20 mL of RPMI-1640 supplemented with 20% foetal calf serum and 1% penicillin / streptomycin, pre-warmed to 37 °C, in 75 cm3 culture flasks. Cultures were incubated at 37 °C, 5% CO2, 95% humidified air. Medium was replenished every 4 to 7 days until cultures reached 70% to 80% confluence. Cells were then passaged for continuous culture. Morphological features were studied under an Olympus CK40 inverted microscope at 206 magnification, and images were captured using VisiCam software (VWR International, Radnor, USA). All of the experiments were carried out on early passage cultures (<5).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
