Synthesis and Purification of Functionalized Nanoparticles

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Reagents were obtained from commercial suppliers (Sigma Aldrich, Acros Organics, Fisher Scientific, Strem Chemicals and Rapp polymere) were used without further purification. Silver chloride (AgCl, 99.9%), selenium powder (Se, 99.99%), and tri-noctylphosphine (TOP, 97%) were obtained from Strem Chemicals. Lipoic acid, Poly ethylene glycol 3000 Da, Triethylamine, Gold (III) chloride trihydrate (HAuCl4•3H2O, ≥99.9%), tetraoctylammonium bromide (TOAB, 98%), tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO, 99%), Oleylamine (OLAm, 70%) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich.
As solvents, Milli-Q water (18.2 MΩ, filtered with a filter pore size of 0.22 μM) from Millipore, toluene, isopropanol, ethanol, acetone, hexane, and anhydrous tetrahydrofuran were used (HPLC grade, Acros Organics). Purification of the water-soluble nanoparticles from free reagents was performed on centrifuge filters PALL with a molecular cut-off of 100 kDa (4000 rpm 20 min).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
