Annexin 5 fitc and pi apoptosis detection kit

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Annexin V-FITC and PI apoptosis detection kit is a laboratory tool used to detect and quantify apoptosis, a form of programmed cell death. The kit contains Annexin V conjugated with the fluorescent dye FITC and the DNA-binding dye propidium iodide (PI). Annexin V binds to phosphatidylserine, which is exposed on the cell surface during apoptosis, while PI stains the nuclei of cells with compromised cell membranes. This combination allows for the identification and quantification of early and late apoptotic cells using flow cytometry or microscopy.

Apoptosis Detection by Annexin V-FITC/PI Flow

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Annexin V-FITC and PI apoptosis detection kit (V13242, Invitrogen™) were used to detect cell apoptosis. The collected cells were transfected, followed by resuspension in 20 μL of binding buffer and 20-min incubation using PI (5 μL) and annexin V-FITC (10 μL) in the dark. Cell death was estimated using flow cytometry (FC).

Apoptosis Assay by Flow Cytometry

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cell apoptosis was assayed using a commercially available Annexin V/FITC and PI apoptosis detection kit (Invitrogen) and flow cytometry. Briefly, the transfected HL-60 and THP-1 cells were trypsinized, harvested, washed and resuspended with 100 ml of 1 × binding buffer at a final concentration of 1 × 10 6 cells/ml. Then the cells were stained with 5 μl Annexin V/FITC followed by 1 μl PI and incubated in the dark for 15 min at room temperature. The apoptotic cells were analyzed by FACSCalibur flow cytometer (FACScalibur, BD, Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
