In all experiments, deionized water (18.2 MΩ·cm) was obtained from a Millipore filtration system (Milli-Q IQ7003, Darmstadt, Germany). The silicon wafer (p-doped) or borosilicate glass substrates were cleaned by oxygen plasma before use. The self-assembled molecules of Octadecanethiol (ODT, 98%), PS spheres aqueous suspension (10 wt%), Rhodamine 6G (R6G, 99%), and glucose (99.5%) were all purchased from Sigma Aldrich (Trondheim, Norway). In addition, acetone and absolute ethanol (99.5%, VWR chemicals, Trondheim, Norway) were used as received without further purification.

Synthesis of Silver-Alkylthiolate Coordination Polymer

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Alkylthiolate–silver coordination polymer was prepared referring to the previous literatures [19 (link)]. Silver nitrate (AgNO3, 4.9 × 10−3 mol; Sigma-Aldrich, Inc., St. Louis, MO, USA) was dissolved in a mixed solvent (50 mL of tetrahydrofuran (THF; Daejung Chemicals & Metals CO., LTD., Siheung, South Korea) and 25 mL of ethanol (EtOH; Daejung Chemicals & Metals CO., LTD., Tokyo South Korea)), and octadecanethiol (9.1 × 10−3 mol; Sigma-Aldrich, Inc., St. Louis, MO, USA) was dissolved in 50 mL of THF solvent. Both solutions were mixed and vigorously stirred under ambient condition. After 24 h, the obtained precipitate was separated by centrifugation and unreacted octadecanethiol moiety was washed out utilizing THF and EtOH. Thus obtained product, AgS(CH2)17CH3 coordination polymer (AgSC18) was dried in vacuum oven.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
