Poplar Wood Functionalization Protocol

Poplar wood (Populus spp.) was cut into blocks with the dimensions of 10 mm (longitudinal) × 20 mm (tangential) × 20 mm (radial). Synthesis of Styrene-based Polymers

Sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS, 99%), poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP, Mn = 40 000) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were purchased from Aladdin Chemical Reagent Company. 2,2-Azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN, 98%), dibutyl phthalate (DBP, 99%), tetrahydrofuran (THF, 99%) were purchased from Tianjin Fuyu Fine Chemical Company. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, n = 1750 ± 50) and Span 80 was provided by Tianjin Guangfu Chemical Company. Benzoyl peroxide (BPO, 95%) was supplied from Tianjin Beichen Chemical Company.
