The human colonic cell line (Caco-2; ATCC® HTB-37) were maintained in DMEM High Glucose media supplemented with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum, 1% Penicillin and Streptomycin. Primary derived Human Aortic Endothelial Cells (HAoEC; Promocell C-12271) were maintained in Endothelial Cell Media MV (PromoCell) supplemented with 10,000 U/mL Penicillin and 100 mg/mL Streptomycin. HAoEC were subject to shear hemodynamic force of 10 dynes/cm2 to mimic the physiological conditions of vascular stress. Human 2019-nCoV strain 2019-nCoV/Italy-INMI1 was obtained from the European Virus Archive Global (Ref. no: 008V-03893) and was used throughout the duration of this study at a Multiplicity of Infection (MOI) of 0.4 with viral titer at 1.08 x 105 TCID50/mL.

Culturing Human Dermal Blood Endothelial Cells
