Rat anti mouse ly6g antibody

Manufactured by BioLegend

The Rat anti-mouse Ly6G antibody is a laboratory tool used for the identification and isolation of mouse Ly6G-positive cells, which are primarily neutrophils. This antibody specifically binds to the Ly6G antigen, allowing researchers to detect and study the behavior and function of these cells in various biological applications.

Neutrophil Depletion in Atherosclerosis

For neutrophil depletion experiments, Mep1α−/− Apoe−/− mice on a B6 genetic background, which show increased neutrophil infiltration in atherosclerotic lesions (unpublished data), were intraperitoneally (I.P.) injected with 200 μg of monoclonal rat anti-mouse Ly6G antibody (Clone: 1A8, Biolegend) per mouse every other day for 4 weeks, starting the day before surgery. For mice that were not treated with the antibody, an equivalent amount of saline was administered as reported [23 (link)].

Neutrophil Depletion for Allergy Experiments

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
To deplete neutrophils, adult hFcεRI/hNC16A mice were pretreated with i.p. injection of rat anti-mouse Ly6G antibody or match control antibody (BioLegend, cat#127601) at a dose of 150μg per mouse and 12 h later injected at ear with anti-hNC16A IgE or control IgE (Liu et al., 2008 (link)). Neutrophil levels in circulation were monitored by direct cell counting of blood smears stained with Wright dye (Baxter Diagnostics Inc., McGaw Park, IL).

Immunohistochemical Detection of Ly-6G

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded samples were sectioned at a thickness of 5 μm. Rat anti-mouse Ly-6G antibody (BioLegend) was used for immunohistochemistry according to established procedures50 (link). The areas in all specimens that stained positive for Ly-6G were examined using a microscope (CTR 6000; Leica, Wetzlar, Germany).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
