Octadecylamine

Methylacrylate (99% + ) and octadecylamine (96% + ) were purchased from Adamas-Beta (China). Other used chemicals include methanol (99.5%, Tianjin), hexane (98%, Tianjin), sodium hydroxide (96%, Tianjin), and hydrochloric acid (36.5%, Tianjin). Distilled organic solvents and doubly distilled water were used.

Oxymatrine (OMT), polyoxyethylene stearate (SPEG), rhodamine B (RB), 1-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDCI) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS, N-linked, carboxylation degree 80%) were offered by Macklin Biochemical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China), respectively. Octadecylamine (ODA) and N-Hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) were supplied by Adamas-beta (Shanghai, China). Soybean phospholipid (SPC) was supplied by A.V.T Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Cholesterol (Chol) was purchased from VetecTM reagent grade (Shanghai, China). Porcine pancreatic elastase (PPE) was purchased from Macklin Biochemical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China).

Methacrylate (>99%) and octadecylamine (>96%) were purchased from Adamas-Beta (Shanghai, China). L-Trp, D-glucose, ethyl carbamate, and N-methylmorpholine were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Methanol (99.5%), hexane (98%), sodium hydroxide (96%), and hydrochloric acid (36.5%) were used as received from Tianjin Chemical Factory (Tianjin, China). White Vaseline cream was purchased from Aladdin Industrial Corporation (Shanghai, China). Milli-Q water was used for all the experiments. We refer the reader to our previous publications for the synthesis of zwitterionic amphiphile 3,3′-(octadecylazanediyl) dipropionic acid (C18ADPA) (see the chemical structure in Figure 1). The data was analyzed using a two-way ANOVA (GraphPad Prism 9.0).
