Poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA,RG503H, MW near 11,000) was used as received from the manufacturer (Boehringer-Ingelheim, Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany). Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, MW 15,000) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Milan, Italy).
