(Budapest, Hungary). In all cases, the water was purified by a Millipore Milli Q water purification system (Bradford, MA, USA). In addition, 2-propanol (IPA) was purchased from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany); the Kreon® 25000 (Lipase:Amylase:Protease = 25,000:18,000:1000 Unit) gastric resistance hard capsule was a product of Mylan EPD Ltd. (Budapest, Hungary), and the Pangrol® 25000 (Lipase:Amylase:Protease = 25,000:22,500:1250 Unit) gastric resistance hard capsule was produced by Berlin-Chemie Menarini (Berlin, Germany).

Comparative Extraction of Organic Compounds

Preparation of l-Lactide and β-Cyclodextrin

l-lactide (l-LA—Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) was recrystallized twice from ethyl acetate, dried under vacuum, and sublimated before use. β-cyclodextrin (CD—Cyclolab, Budapest, Hungary) was dried over P2O5 under vacuum at 80 °C for 72 h and kept over P2O5 in the desiccator under Ar atmosphere. The reaction solvent, dry dimethylformamide, was purchased from Aldrich and used as received. All other used solvents were HPLC grade and were used as received.

The following were obtained from Tocris Bioscience (Bristol, UK): dl-threo-β-benzyloxyaspartic acid (dl-TBOA), tetrodotoxin, and ω-conotoxin MVIIC. The following were purchased from Reanal (Hungary, Budapest): sodium chloride and D-glucose. Fetal bovine serum was obtained from Biosera (Nuaille, France). Lidocaine hydrochloride was provided by Egis Pharmaceutical Plc. (Budapest, Hungary). Tolperisone and pregabalin were received as kind gifts from Meditop Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Budapest, Hungary). Ultrapure water from MilliQ Direct 8 water purification system (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany) was used for all experiments. All compounds were stored and handled as described in the product information sheets.
