Polar metabolite standards

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in Sao Tome and Principe

Polar metabolite standards are reference materials used in analytical chemistry for the identification and quantification of polar metabolites in complex samples. These standards provide known concentrations of specific polar metabolites, enabling researchers to accurately measure and compare the levels of these compounds in their experiments.

Polar Metabolite and SCFA Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A total of 205 polar metabolite standards were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Corp. (St. Louis, MO, U.S.A.), Fisher Scientific (Loughborough, U.K.), and Cayman Chemical (Ann Arbor, MI, U.S.A.). Eight SCFA standards (sodium formate, sodium acetate, sodium propionate, sodium butyrate, isobutyric acid, sodium pentanoate, 2-methylbutyric acid, and isovaleric acid), 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl bromide (PFBBr), methoxyamine hydrochloride (MH), and N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)-N-methyltrifluoroacetamide (MTBSTFA) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Corp.

Preparation of Polar Metabolite Standards

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
79 polar metabolite standards of analytical grade (Supplementary table S1) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich and Cayman chemicals and prepared as 1 or 10 mM stock solutions in deionized water (DI-water). An external standard mixture (ES) was prepared from stock solutions by serial dilutions, aliquoted and stored at -20°C. Upon analysis, an aliquot of the standard mixture was diluted further to construct a calibration dilution series spanning the concentration range expected for most of the phosphometabolites in biological extracts at the given sampling densities: 5 to 10,000 nM.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
