The 4-methoxybenzoic acid, pyridine-2,6-dicarbaldehyde, phosphorous oxychloride, carbohydrazide, isocyanate and isothiocyanates, Hydrazine hydrate (80%), TEA, CS2, KOH, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and glacial acetic acid were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Darmstadt, Germany. The chloride salts of the transition metals were obtained from Aldrich and Alfa Aesar. Ethanol, mEthanol, chloroform, deionized water, acetonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide, petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, n-hexane, toluene (Samchun Chemicals, Seoul, Korea), H2SO4, acetic acid, and HCl (Jin Chemical and Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Seoul, Korea) were used in this experiment. Urease from jack bean (EC 3.5.1.5), Thio-urea, sodium nitroprusside, and active chloride were purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA). Stock solutions of the reducing substrates were prepared in phosphate buffer (20 mM, pH 6.8).

Polyamine-Based Lipid Nanoparticle Synthesis

GFP siRNA (cat. P-002048-01-50) and DharmaFECT transfection reagents were purchased from Horizon Discovery Ltd. 1% agarose gels with SYBR™ Safe (#A42100) were purchased from ThermoFisher. Recombinant mouse TGF-β1 (cat. 7666-MB) was obtained from R&D. DSPC (#850365), cholesterol (#700100), and C14-PEG2000 (#880150) were bought from Avanti Polar Lipids. DLin-MC3-DMA was purchased from MedChem Express (Monmouth Junction, NJ). Luciferase mRNA was produced through an in vitro transcription (IVT) method46 (link).

High purity water (≤ 18 MΩ) was obtained from Barnstead MegaPure Glass Stills (MP-3A, Thermo scientific, Waltham, MA, USA). All PCR primers and Trizol reagent were purchased from Invitrogen (Carlsbad, CA). All ELISA kits were purchased from R & D systems (Minneapolis, MN).

Standardized Phytochemical Characterization

The standards of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, p-coumaric acid, ferulic, isoferulic acid, pinobanksin, chrysin, sakuranetin, naringenin, apigenin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, acacetin and pinocembrin were obtained from Extrasynthese (Genay, France) and galangin from Alfa Aesar, (Haverhill, MA, USA). The antibiotics: ampicillin, oxacillin, teicoplanin, gentamicin, amikacin, fusidic acid, erythromycin, mupirocin, rifampicin, levofloxacin, norfloxacin, linezolid, bacitracin were purchased from Argenda (Poland). Methanol, ethanol, vanillin, benzoic acid, cinnamic acid were purchased from (POCH, Gliwice, Poland). Ultrapure H2O (18.0 MΩ) was obtained with a Milli-Q Advantage A10 system (Millipore, Billerica, MA, USA). The absorbance of the reaction mixture in Folin-Ciocalteu, DPPH assays were measured using a Genesys 20 spectrophotometer (Thermo Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA).
