P mtor and mtor

Manufactured by Cell Signaling Technology

P-mTOR and mTOR are antibodies used in laboratory research to detect and quantify the phosphorylated and total forms of the mTOR protein, respectively. mTOR is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a central role in regulating cell growth, proliferation, motility, survival, protein synthesis, and transcription. These antibodies are useful tools for studying the activity and regulation of the mTOR signaling pathway.

Western Blot Analysis of Signaling Proteins

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Tissue extracts (50 μg per lane) were prepared in lysis buffer [10 mM tris-HCl (pH 8), 150 mM NaCl, 1% Triton X-100, and protease inhibitors and PhosSTOP (Roche)] and subjected to Western blotting. The Western blot was probed with anti-p-AMPK and anti-AMPK, p-ACC and ACC, p-mTOR and mTOR, p-S6 and S6 (Cell Signaling), and tubulin antibodies. Immunodetection with an appropriate secondary peroxidase-conjugated antibody (DAKO) was followed by chemiluminescence (Amersham). Protein band quantification was performed using LabImage software.

Monoclonal antibodies specific for Beclin‐1 and p62 were purchased from Sigma‐Aldrich. The anti‐GAPDH monoclonal antibody was acquired from Calbiochem‐Merck Chemicals Ltd. Similarly, anti‐active caspase‐3, anti‐SIRT‐1, p‐PI3K and PI3K, p‐mTOR and mTOR, and anti‐Parkin were obtained from Cell Signaling Technology. Finally, anti‐Bcl‐2, anti‐Bax, anti‐ATG12, and anti‐MAP‐LC3 antibodies were obtained from Santa Cruz Biotechnology. A cocktail of protease inhibitors (Complete™ Protease Inhibitor Cocktail) was purchased from Boehringer Mannheim. The Immun Star HRP substrate kit was obtained from Bio‐Rad Laboratories Inc.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
