Cultivating Human Bronchial and Endothelial Cells

The human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B), and human pulmonary artery endothelial cells (HPAEC) were obtained from American Type Culture Collection (ATCC, Manassas, VA, USA) and cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM; Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS; HyClone, Logan, UT, USA), 2-mM glutamine, and 100-U/mL penicillin/streptomycin (Sigma-Aldrich) in 5% CO 2 humidified atmosphere at 37°C.
