Systematic Review Search Strategy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will follow a three-step approach aimed at identifying both published and unpublished studies. First, a draft search will be conducted in MEDLINE (Ovid) and CINAHL (EBSCO), followed by an analysis of text words in the titles, abstracts, and index terms. Second, the search strategy for MEDLINE (Ovid) and CINAHL (EBSCO) will be finalized and tailored according to each additional database (see Appendix I). Third, reference lists of the final selected studies will be screened for additional eligible studies.
The databases to be searched include MEDLINE (Ovid) and CINAHL (EBSCO). The search for unpublished or gray literature will include the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global database, PapersFirst, and EThOS. While studies in all languages will be included in the search, only those in English will be included in the review and there will be no time limits. Non-English studies with abstracts in English will be listed in an appendix in the final report.

Comprehensive Literature Search Strategy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will aim to locate both published and unpublished original studies. An initial limited search of MEDLINE (PubMed) and CINAHL (EBSCO) was undertaken to identify articles on the topic. The text words contained in the titles and abstracts of relevant articles and the index terms used to describe the articles were used to develop a full search strategy for MEDLINE, which is shown in online supplemenal appendix I. The search strategy, including all identified keywords and index terms, will be adapted as needed for each included information source. The reference lists of included studies will be screened for additional papers. Articles published in English and Scandinavian languages will be included in this scoping review.
Articles published as from 1980 will be included. The databases to be searched include MEDLINE via PubMed, CINAHL EBSCO, PsycINFO via EBSCO and Embase via Elsevier. Unpublished studies and grey literature will be searched in Google Scholar.

Comprehensive Systematic Search Strategy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will aim to locate both published and unpublished studies. An initial limited search of PubMed and CINAHL (EBSCO) was undertaken to identify articles on the topic. The text words (ie, free text words) contained in the titles and abstracts of relevant articles identified in the initial search, and the index terms (ie, MeSH terms in MEDLINE [Ovid]) used to describe the articles were used to develop a full search strategy for MEDLINE (Ovid; see Appendix I). The search strategy, including all identified keywords and index terms, will be adapted for each included database and/or information source. The reference list of all included sources of evidence will be screened for additional studies.
Studies published in English, Finnish, or Swedish will be included. Limitations regarding publication date will not be applied.
The databases to be searched include MEDLINE (PubMed), CINAHL (EBSCO), ProQuest (Abi/Inform), Scopus, Medic (a Finnish database), Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Cochrane CENTRAL. MedNar will be searched to identify unpublished studies and gray literature.

Comprehensive Search Strategy for Patient Safety

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
We used a research strategy consisting of three phases. Initially, we conducted a limited search in MEDLINE (PubMed) and CINAHL (EBSCO) to identify articles on the topic under analysis. The text words contained in the titles and abstracts of the articles considered relevant were consulted and the index terms were used to develop a full search strategy, available in Table 2.
Subsequently, and using all the keywords and index terms initially identified, a second search was conducted in the following databases: MEDLINE (PubMed), CINAHL (EBSCO), Embase (Elsevier), RCAAP -Open Access Scientific Repository of Portugal, WHO -World Health Organization database, Agency for Health Research and Quality database, WorldCat and ProQuest Dissertations and Theses.
Published and unpublished literature in any language from 2002 to the present was considered, since in 2002 the WHO Executive Board extensively discussed the topic of patient safety, and since then many initiatives have taken place at a global level, it has become an important milestone. In the third phase of the search, the reference lists of the studies included in this review were scanned, but no additional relevant studies were found.

Systematic Review of Self-Management Programs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will aim to locate published primary studies, reviews, and text and opinion papers. An initial limited search of MEDLINE (Ovid) and CINAHL (EBSCO) was undertaken to identify articles on the topic. The text words contained in the titles and abstracts of relevant articles, and the index terms used to describe the articles were used to develop a full search strategy (see Appendix I). The search strategy, including all identified keywords and index terms, will be adapted for each included information source. The reference lists of articles selected for full-text review will be screened for additional papers.
Studies will be limited to those in English or translated into English as the reviewers are only proficient in that language. Articles published in the last 20 years (2001 to the present) will be included. This date range was agreed upon to ensure that this review would be manageable, while also ensuring that included programs reflected current self-management principles, given the shift to self-management strategies in the early 2000s. 11, 22 The databases to be searched include MEDLINE (Ovid), Scopus (Elsevier), CINAHL (EBSCO), Emcare (Ovid), Web of Science, and PsycINFO (Ovid). Gray literature will be excluded because this is an initial exploratory study to broadly scope literature available on the topic.

Millennial Nurses' Workforce Experiences

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will aim to find both published and unpublished studies. An initial limited search of MEDLINE (PubMed) and CINAHL (EBSCO) was undertaken followed by analysis of the text words contained in the title and abstract, and of the index terms used to describe article. This informed the development of a search strategy that will be tailored for each information source. A proposed search strategy for CINAHL is detailed in Appendix I. The reference lists of all studies selected will be screened for additional studies.
The databases to be searched include MEDLINE (PubMed), CINAHL (EBSCO), Embase (Elsevier), Scopus (Elsevier), Ovid Healthstar (Ovid), and PsycINFO (EBSCO).
The search for unpublished studies will include MedNar (Mednar.com) and ProQuest Dissertations and Theses (ProQuest).
Studies published in English since 2010 will be included. The oldest of the millennial nurses are in their late 30s to early 40s. The aim of this scoping review is to identify the most current research on millennial nurses entering the workforce, thus the length of time since an article was published will be important for gaining the most recent information. If research includes multiple generations, only results from articles that clearly delineate results between each generation will be used.

Ambivalence in Food and Diet Behavior

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Our full search strategy (Appendix I) was developed with the assistance of the library services of the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Campinas. The search terms include free-text terms for ambivalence and a combination of headings and keywords for food and diet which were extracted from titles and abstracts of relevant articles identified during an initial limited search on MEDLINE (PubMed), CINAHL (EBSCO), and PsycINFO. Our search strategy, including all identified keywords and index terms, was then adapted for each database that will be included in this review. The reference lists of all included sources of evidence will be screened for additional studies.
We will include studies published (or available as preprints) in English, Portuguese, or French within any timeframe. Studies in other languages will not be included due to time and financial limitations on seeking translations.
The databases to be searched for peer-reviewed studies are MEDLINE (PubMed), PsycINFO, Web of Science, Food Science Source (EBSCO), FSTA (EBSCO), and CINAHL (EBSCO). PsyArXiv and MedArXiv will be searched for preprints.

Pediatric Cancer Alternative Therapies

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Searches were performed by a health sciences librarian and the first author in the following databases: AMED, CAMbase, CINAHL (Ebsco), EMBASE, PubMed and PsycInfo. The German publishers Theme eJournals and Karger were also searched for studies. To identify additional studies not found by electronic searches, the reference lists of articles were checked. Depending on the database, abstracts and keywords were searched and various combinations of medical subject headings (MESH) terms and keywords were used, such as neoplasms, paediatrics child, adolescents, puberty, young adult, alternative therapies, complementary therapies, communication, information, information needs, dialogue, patient education, physician-patient relations, and dietary supplements. They were combined with “OR” and “AND” (the search-strings are attached as additional information). Keywords were adapted for the other electronic databases according to the specific subject headings or structure (see supplementary file).
