C peptide

Manufactured by R&D Systems

C-peptide is a protein produced by the pancreas alongside insulin. It is released into the bloodstream when insulin is produced and can be measured to evaluate insulin secretion.

Mouse and Human Serum Biomarker Analyses

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Mouse whole blood was collected in Eppendorf tubes. It was allowed to coagulate for 2 h at room temperature, centrifuged 20 min at 4,000 rpm and then stored in aliquots in PCR tubes at −80 °C until subsequent use. Whole blood from patients was collected in Vacuette Serum Clot Tubes, centrifuged 20 min at 2,100 rpm and then aliquoted into small tubes and stored at −80 °C until use. All the ELISA assays to detect mouse and human serum level of IGF1, IGFBP1, IGFBP3, C-peptide, leptin and adiponectin were purchased from R&D System except that for mouse C-peptide, which was purchased from Alpco.

Plasma Hormone Quantification in Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Mice were fasted overnight or for 4 h, and plasma was collected via tail vein or cardiac puncture. Plasma insulin, C-peptide, and glucagon levels were assessed using insulin (Millipore), C-peptide (ALPCO), or glucagon (R&D systems) ELISAs, respectively, according to the manufacturer's instructions. glucagon levels were measured immediately upon blood collection. insulin levels from perifusion analysis and isolated islets were also measured by ELISA as above.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
