HPLC Analysis of Polyphenolic Compounds

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Ethanol 95% (v/v) (Vetec, Duque de Caxias, SP, Brazil) and water filtered through a Milli-Q apparatus (Millipore, Bellerica, MA, USA) were used to prepare the extraction solutions. Methanol, acetonitrile (J. T. Baker, Center Valley, PA, USA), and Milli-Q water were used in standard, sample, and mobile phase preparations. Formic acid, acetic acid, orthophosphoric acid, trifluoroacetic acid, and trichloroacetic acid (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA) were used as acidifying agents for the mobile phase. Ellagic acid, gallic acid, catechin, epicatechin, rutin, hesperidin, and quercetin were of analytical grade (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA) and used as external standards.

Quantification of Lutein and Vitamin E

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The lutein (Achemo, Hong Kong, China) and vitamin E (Galena, São Paulo, Brazil) standards had purities of 98.80% and 90.03%, respectively. Water was obtained using the Milli-Q water purification system (Millipore, Bedford, Massachusetts, USA). The reagents acetonitrile and ethyl acetate (chromatographic grade) were purchased from Tedia (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil). Ethanol 95% (v/v) and polysorbate 80 (P80) were purchased from Vetec (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil). The samples were filtered using 10 µm polyethylene filters obtained from Hanson Research (Chatsworth, California, USA) and 0.45 µm polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) filters were purchased from Millex Millipore® (São Paulo, SP, Brazil).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
