2,2′-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS), sulfuric acid, 2,2′-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), potassium ferricyanide (K₃[Fe(CN)₆]), sodium carbonate, caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, quercetin, gallic acid, cinnamic acid, naringenin, pinocembrin, galangin, rutin, pinobanksin, and chlorogenic acid were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Germany. Trichloroacetic acid, trisodium phosphate (Na₃PO₄), potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂PO₄), and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous (K₂HPO₄) were purchased from VWR, Leuven, Belgium, and chrysin was purchased from AbCam, UK. Ferulic acid was purchased from Acros Organics, USA. Iron (III) chloride was purchased from Buchs, Switzerland. Ammonium heptamolybdate ((NH₄)₆Mo₇O₂₄) was purchased from Pronalab, Lisbon, Portugal. Folin-Ciocalteu's phenol and AlCl3 were purchased from Panreac Quımica, Montcada i Reixac, Barcelona, Spain. Ascorbic acid, cell culture medium (DMEM and RPMI), 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), and triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, USA. TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 kits were purchased from R&D Systems, Inc., USA. Mueller Hinton broth and Mueller Hinton agar were purchased from Biokar Diagnostics (Beauvais, France).

THP-1 cells (5 × 10⁵ cells/well) were seeded in 24 well plates and incubated for 24 hm then treated with LPS to induce the secretion of inflammatory related cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-10) or treated with LPS+EPS for 48 h. After incubation, the concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-10 in the culture medium were determined using DuoSet ELISA kits (TNF-α kits, Catalog #KE0068, Proteintech, Rosemont, IL, USA; IL-1β kits, Catalog #RAB0273, Sigma-Aldrich, Steinheim, Germany; IL-10 kits, Catalog #DY217B-05, R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MI, USA) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
