Culturing Spodoptera frugiperda Sf9 Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) was cells purchased from National Cell bank of Iran (Pasteur Institute of Iran) and used for virus transfection.
Sf9 cells adapted to grow in Grace’s insect cell medium (Invitrogen, USA) containing 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) (Gibco, USA) and
1% penicillin-streptomycin (Gibco, USA). Cells were maintained at 27 °C in a non-humidified incubator. Sf9 cells cultured in T-25 flask and
after 3-4 days reached 90-100% confluency. Cells were washed with PBS and detached with a scraper before transfection.

S. frugiperda Sf9 (ATCC CRL-1711) insect cells were cultured in Grace's insect cell medium (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA) and supplemented with 10% FBS (Thermo Fisher, Rockford, IL) and 1% P/S/A antibiotics (Biological Industries, Beit-Haemek, Israel) at 27 °C. 100 nm gold nanoparticle (AuNP) solution was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
