Orexin-A and Capsaicin Injection Protocol

The orexin-1 receptor (OX1R) antagonist SB-334867-A (Tocris Bioscience) was dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide and diluted in synthetic CSF. The drugs were injected into the RVM with a polyethylene syringe (volume: 1 μL). Capsaicin (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO) was added to a solution containing 80% distilled water, 10% ethanol, and 10% Tween 80.
