Canadian Dementia Imaging Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The core CIMA‐Q protocol is referred to as the Canadian Dementia Imaging Protocol (www.cdip-pcid.ca). All brain images were acquired from either Siemens Healthcare (TrioTim and Prisma Fit) or Philips Medical Systems (Achieva and Ingenia) scanners with a magnetic field of 3 Tesla (more details about the acquisition parameters can be found in supporting information). The protocol sequences for image acquisition were harmonized between manufacturers/software configurations to optimize commonality, and quality control procedures were performed monthly to ensure across‐scan comparability (see Duchesne et al.22).

Multi-site 3T MRI Scanning for Cognitive Impairment

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
T1-weighted MRI scanning was performed at five different sites (see Table 1). Scans were acquired from either Siemens Healthcare (TrioTim and Prisma Fit) or Philips Medical Systems (Achieva and Ingenia) scanners with a magnetic field strength of 3 Tesla. All scans were first visually inspected by a rater blinded to the diagnosis. Six participants were excluded due to poor quality scans (CH = 1, SCD = 1, AD = 4). The final sample included 137 participants (CH = 29, SCD = 66, eMCI = 22, lMCI = 8, AD = 12).

Harmonized MRI Brain Imaging Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Structural T1-and T2-weighted MRI scans were acquired at the baseline session using harmonized pulse sequences (T1: TE = 2-2.9ms, TR= 6.31 -2500 ms, T1 = 1,060 ms, flip angle = 8 degrees, FOV = 256 x 256, resolution = 1 mm isotropic, slice thickness, slices = 176-225; T2: TE = 60-565 ms, FOV = 256 x 256, resolution = 1mm isotropic, slices= 176-225) across seven 3T MRI scanner models (Siemens: Prisma, Prisma Fit; Phillips: Achieva dStream, Ingenia, Signa Creator, Discovry MR 750). Acquisition details are provided in Casey et al., 2018) (link). The T1 and T2-weighted structural scans used for this study were processed by the Developmental Cognition and Neuroimaging (DCAN) labs as part of the ABCD-BIDS Community Collection (ABCC). These methods are described in detail at the following webpage: https://collection3165.readthedocs.io/en/stable/.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
