Enzymatic Activities of Arthropod Venoms

Superoxide Dismutase Activity Assay

Ten milligrams of tumor fragments was weighed, homogenized in ice-cold 0.1 M Tris–HCl, pH 7.4 containing 0.5% Triton X-100, 10 mM DTT, and 0.1 mg/ml PMSF, and centrifuged at 12,000 × g for 10 min at 4 °C to discard the cell debris. SOD activity measurement and SOD activity calculation were performed according to the manufacturer’s protocol. The absorbance was measured at 450 nm using Infinite M1000 PRO plate reader (Tecan Trading AG, Switzerland).
