Analyzing Biochemical Markers in Saline-Treated Rams

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Rams were given saline water daily for nine months. All sheep had their blood extracted through the jugular vein, and 5 ml of the blood was collected in a dry, clean vacuum tube (Biomedica Alex.Co., Alexandria, Egypt). Clear, non-hemolyzed serum samples were held at -20 °C until further examination after blood was clotted at room temperature for 20 min and centrifuged at 1008 g for 10 min. The serum samples were used to measure nitric oxide (NO), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) using commercial kits provided by Spectrum Diagnostics (Obour City, Cairo, Egypt). The Clinical Chemistry Analyzer ERBA CHEM 7, ERBA (Mannheim, Germany) was used. The FSH levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent ELISA kit (MyBioSource, Southern California, San Diego, USA) [24 (link)]. LH concentration was assessed using an ELISA kit (MyBiosourse, Southern California, San Diego, USA), while testosterone concentration was evaluated using an ELISA kit (MyBiosourse, Southern California, San Diego, USA) [25 (link)]. The cortisol concentration was assessed using the RIA method [26 (link)].

CRP Levels in Periodontal Treatment

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A volume of 10 ml of the blood sample was collected from each of the subjects from the antecubital vein and transferred to an appropriately labeled test tube. Samples were sent immediately for biochemical analysis. Immunoturbidimetry method was used to detect CRP level in the blood sample (Aggagape Diagnostic Ltd., Kerala) using ERBA Chem 7 semiautoanalyzer (ERBA, Germany). It had a detection limit of 0.015 mg/dL. CRP levels were measured initially at baseline and after the delivery in both the groups. In the treatment group, periodontal treatment was carried only after collecting blood sample for CRP measurement.

Blood Biochemistry Analysis in Lambs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood samples (10 mL) were withdrawn from jugular vein of lambs at 3 h after morning feeding. Blood was clotted at room temperature for 20 min and centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 min to obtain the serum. Serum samples were immediately separated, transported, and stored at − 20 0C until the subsequent analysis. Blood serum samples were analyzed for total protein, albumin, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), urea, and creatinine using commercial test kits provided by (Spectrum Diagnostics, Egypt) and a spectrophotometer (Clinical Chemistry Analyzer ERBA CHEM 7, ERBA, Mannheim, Germany). The serum globulin concentration was calculated by subtracting the obtained albumin value from the total protein value.

Sheep Serum Biochemical Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood samples were collected from sheep at the study onset and after 9 months of saline water treatment. Blood samples were drawn from all sheep via the jugular vein by collecting
approximately 5 ml of blood in a clean, dry vacuum tube (Biomedica Alex Co., Alexandria, Egypt). Blood was clotted at room temperature for 20 min and centrifuged at 3,000
rpm for 10 min, and clear, non-hemolyzed serum samples were stored at −20°C until subsequent analysis. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT, IU/l), aspartate aminotransferase (AST,
IU/l), alkaline phosphatase (ALP, IU/l), urea (mg/dl) and creatinine (mg/dl) from the serum samples were assessed using
commercial kits provided by Spectrum Diagnostics (Obour City, Cairo, Egypt) and spectrophotometric analysis (Clinical Chemistry Analyzer ERBA CHEM 7, ERBA, Mannheim, Germany).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
