Anti hmgcr sc 271595

Manufactured by Santa Cruz Biotechnology
Sourced in Germany, United States

Anti-HMGCR (sc-271595) is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes the HMGCR (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase) protein. HMGCR is an enzyme that plays a key role in the mevalonate pathway, which is involved in the production of cholesterol and other important molecules. This antibody can be used in various analytical techniques for the detection and study of HMGCR expression.

The statins (mevalonate pathway inhibitors) used were simvastatin (SIM, Sigma-Aldrich, Hamburg, Germany), rosuvastatin calcium (ROSU, SelleckChem, Munich, Germany), and atorvastatin calcium salt trihydrate (ATO, Sigma-Aldrich, Hamburg, Germany). Stocks were prepared in DMSO. Primary antibodies for Western Blot analyses were: anti-Rap1A (sc-1482; recognizes the ungeranylated Rap1A47 (link)), anti-HMGCR (sc-271595) from Santa Cruz (Heidelberg, Germany), anti-HMGCR (ab214018) from Abcam (Cambridge, UK), anti-cleaved PARP (#9541) from Cell Signaling Technology, Inc. (Beverly, MA, USA), and anti-SREBP2 (#557037) from BD Biosciences (Heidelberg, Germany). For GAPDH, we used the anti-GAPDH (sc-25778) from Santa Cruz (Heidelberg, Germany) and anti-GAPDH (#5G4) from HyTest Ltd. (Turku, Finland). Secondary horseradish peroxidase-conjugated antibodies were anti-mouse IgG (HAF007), anti-rabbit IgG (HAF008), and anti-goat IgG (HAF109) from R&D Systems, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
