Chlorpyrifos Analytical Protocol

Analytical-grade standard of Chlorpyrifos (>99% purity) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, (Steinheim, Germany). The physico-chemical properties of Chlorpyrifos are tabulated in Supplementary Table 1. Pesticide stock solutions (1000 mg 1L) were prepared in HPLC grade methanol (Merck) and were stored in dark at −20 °C. LC grade acetonitrile, methanol, spectroscopic grade anhydrous magnesium sulfate, zinc chloride and cadmium chloride were purchased from Sigma–Aldrich. Deionized water for current experiment was prepared with a Milli-Q system from Millipore-Waters Co. (Bedford, MA).

Quantifying Polyphenol Standards Analysis

Berberis vulgaris Chemical Analysis

The plant material of the Berberis vulgaris L. barberry stem, leaves, and fruits was obtained from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Botanical Garden in Lublin in September 2020 (Voucher specimen: AO2020091). The raw material was separated and dried at room temperature in the shade with ventilation. The raw material was weighed and ground in an electric mill and portioned, vacuum-packed, and stored in a closed package at −30 °C until the start of the tests. Purification and Characterization of CGA Compounds

CGA, CGA-ME, and CGA-LT were purified by us using D101 macroporous resin, Sephadex LH-20 and ODS column chromatography, and preparative HPLC from the aqueous extract of FE; the compounds were identified by UV, IR, MS, and NMR technologies [14 (link)]. The phosphate buffer solution at pH 2, 4, 6, and 8 was prepared according to the guidelines released by Chinese pharmacopoeia.

Phytochemical Analysis of Plant Extracts
