Dried Blood Spot Amino Acid Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Amino acid analysis was performed on dried blood spots using an ABI 3200 Q-TRAP LC-MS/MS system (Applied Biosystems) as previously described.69 (link) Briefly, 25 μL of blood was applied to an S&S Grade 903 filter, dried for 3 h, and then sealed in a plastic bag at −20°C until testing. A 3-mm diameter disc was obtained from each dried blood card and placed in a 96-well polyprolene plate. Methanol (100 μL) containing isotopic internal standards was added to each well followed by incubation at 45°C for 45 min with gentle agitation. After 20 min at room temperature, 75 μL aliquots were transferred to a new plate and covered with an aluminum membrane before use.

Biochemical Analysis of Blood Serum

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood was obtained via puncture of the ear vein using heparinized tubes. Serum was separated by centrifugation at 900 × g for 20 min and stored at −80 °C prior to biochemistry and amino acid analysis. Concentrations of ALT, AST, and triglycerides were measured with a CL-8000 Hitachi 7180 automatic biochemical analyzer (Shimadzu, Kyoto, Japan). Tyrosine was quantified by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry using the ABI 3200 Q TRAP LC-MS/MS system (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
