Blood Collection and Sample Handling
Corresponding Organization : Medical University of Białystok
Variable analysis
- Adolescents from the control group
- Study groups: Pediatric and Nephrology Clinic of the Medical University of Bialystok
- Plasma and blood lysate samples
- Blood was collected on an empty stomach
- Blood was collected during routine examinations for the control group
- Blood was collected in the amount of 10 mL using an S-Monovette® EDTA K3 tube
- Blood was centrifuged (3000 g, 10 min, 4 °C)
- No hemolysis was observed in any of the obtained plasma samples
- Blood cell mass was rinsed 3 times with 0.9% NaCl, and then underwent osmotic lysis using 50 mM cold phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) 1:9 (v/v)
- 0.5 M BHT (Sigma-Aldrich, Saint Louis, MO, USA; 10 µl/ml blood) was added to the plasma and red blood cell lysate to prevent sample oxidation
- Plasma and blood lysate were frozen (–82 °C) and stored deep-frozen for no longer than 6 months

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
