Capillary Density Quantification via Isolectin B4 Staining

Cardiac sections were stained with isolectin B4 (fluorescein labeled Griffonia simplicifolia Lectin I; Vector Labs) as we have described previously [41 (link), 42 (link)]. Capillary density was determined by dividing the total number of isolectin B4 positive vessels by the area of the image (number of capillaries per mm²).
