The FMA-UE is used to evaluate upper limb motor function impairment in people with stroke (30 (link)). The FMA-UE comprises 33 items measuring the reflex, movement and coordination of the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand (30 (link)). Each item is scored on a 3-point scale from 0 to 2, with a maximum possible score of 66 (30 (link)). A higher score indicates a lower level of motor impairment (30 (link)). The FMA-UE has demonstrated excellent intra-rater reliability (ICC = 0.995–0.996) and inter-rater reliability (ICC = 0.97) in people with chronic stroke (30 (link), 31 (link)).
