Antimicrobial Resistance in Staphylococcus aureus

Clinical isolates of MSSA, MRSA-USA100, MRSA-USA300, VISA, VRSA, and LRSA were provided by the Network on Antimicrobial Resistance in Staphylococcus aureus (NARSA) for distribution by the Biodefense and Emerging Infections Research Resources Repository (BEI Resources), NIAID, NIH. The BEI Resources Web site (https://www.beiresources.org ) describes the location of origin of each isolate. Luria−Bertani (LB) media was obtained from Millipore. Cation-adjusted Mueller Hinton (CAMH) media and tryptic soy agar (TSA) were obtained from Becton Dickson. Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) was obtained from BioWhittaker and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was obtained from Fluka Analytical. High-resolution agarose, acetonitrile, trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), mouse serum, porcine mucin, neostigmine bromide, and vancomycin hydrochloride were obtained from Sigma. Linezolid was obtained from LKT Laboratories. TXA707, TXA709, and BOFP were synthesized as described previously.^{26 (link),36 (link)}
