Antibacterial effects of AEA

Bacterial suspensions of OD_600nm = 0.1 in BHI medium were treated with different concentrations of AEA (1.25–50 μg/mL) and incubated at 37 °C, air/5% CO₂ for 24 h. At various time points, the pH of the samples was measured using pH indicator paper strips (MColorpHast, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), and the optical density at 595 nm was measured in parallel in a Tecan Infinite M200 PRO plate reader (Tecan Trading AG, Männedorf, Switzerland) [20 (link)].
