Isolating Human Peripheral Blood Monocytes and Macrophages

Human peripheral blood monocytes were isolated using Percoll and Ficoll density gradients from blood drawn from human donors following a LSU Health Sciences Center Institutional Review Board approved protocol. Peritoneal macrophages were isolated following thioglycollate injection. HAEC (Lonza) and RAW264.7 macrophages (ATCC) were cultured as previously described^{6 (link), 13 (link)}. LDL (intracel) was oxidized as described previously^{14 (link)}. For detailed information, see Supplemental Methods.
