Variable analysis
- Extraction of RNA from serum samples (200 μL) was performed using the miRNeasy Serum/Plasma Kit (cat. 217184, QIAGEN, Hilden, Germany) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- RNA concentration and purity were assessed using a Nanodrop ND-2000 spectrophotometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA).
- Hemolysis in all serum samples was assessed by measuring the absorbance of hemoglobin at 414 nm with a Nanodrop ND-2000 spectrophotometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA).
- Delta Ct value of miR-23a and miR-451 was measured by RT-qPCR in 50% randomly selected RNA samples.
- Synthetic Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) miRNA cel-miR-39 was added to serum samples during the extraction step (validation cohort).
- Synthetic Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) miRNA cel-miR-39 was added to serum samples during the extraction step (validation cohort).
- None specified.

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
