Intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation was achieved via a vitreous chamber cannula placed in one randomly chosen eye. As previous29 (link), the cannula consisted of a 27 G needle (Fig. S1) connected to a saline reservoir (60 mL, Baxter International Inc. Toongabbie, NSW, Australia) via polyethylene tubing (0.8 mm outer, 0.4 mm inner diameter, Unomedical, Sydney, NSW, Australia). IOP was controlled by placing the reservoir to heights pre-calibrated against a manometer (Livingstone, Sydney, NSW, Australia).
