Cells were cultured in DMEM/F12 Ham (Sigma, D6421) with 10% (v/v) foetal calf serum (Labtech), 100 U.mL⁻¹penicillin/ 100 µg.mLstreptomycin (Invitrogen), 2 mM L-glutamine (Invitrogen) and 0.25 ng/ml fibroblast growth factor (R&D Systems).
