BeWo human choriocarcinoma cells (CCL-98, American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) and the immortalized human first-trimester extravillous trophoblast cell line Swan-71 (Straszewski-Chavez et al. 2009 (link)) were maintained in 1:1 DMEM:Ham’s F-12 supplemented with 10% FBS, penicillin (0.1 U/mL), streptomycin (100 μg/mL) and l-glutamine (2 mM) at 37°C, 5% CO₂. JAR (ATCC. HTB-144) and JEG-3 (ATCC 92120308) choriocarcinoma cells were cultured in DMEM, containing 10% FBS and penicillin (0.1 U/mL), streptomycin (100 μg/mL)), 2 mM glutamine at 37°C, 5% CO₂.
