Glucose Tolerance Test Protocol

IPGTT was performed at week 16 (data not shown) and week 20 using the Accu-Check glucometer monitor and strips (Roche Diagnostics, West Sussex, UK) [32 (link)]. After an overnight fast, baseline blood glucose (time 0) was determined; then a glucose solution (25%; 2 g/kg, i.p) was injected, followed by the determination of blood glucose levels at 30, 60, and 120 min.
