The inclusion criteria of this study are as follows: (1) age ≥60 years old, which is the age cut-off of older adults defined by the Nation Health Commission of China (13 ); (2) major pancreatic and biliary surgery, containing pancreatectomy (Whipple procedure, distal pancreatectomy, and local pancreatectomy), bile-enteral bypass due to malignant obstructive, and bile duct exploration; (3) voluntary enrollment and signed informed consent. Exclusion criteria contain (1) emergency operation; (2) cancer patients who underwent adjuvant therapy before operation; (3) severe disability or dementia, inability to cooperate with frailty and sarcopenia assessment or effective communication; (4) refusal of informed consent. The Ethics Committee of Beijing Hospital approved the study protocol and written informed consents were obtained from all participants. (Approval letter No. 2020BJYYEC-218-01). The present study adhered to the STROBE guidelines for cross-sectional study.

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
