Quantification of Aβ and BACE-1 in Drosophila
Corresponding Organization : Kasetsart University
Variable analysis
- Homogenization of 25 to 30 fly heads in 5 M guanidine-HCl containing protease Inhibitor Cocktail for Aβ1–42 quantification
- Homogenization of the same number of fly heads in T-PER™ Tissue Protein Extraction Reagent without protease inhibitor for BACE-1 activity detection
- Concentration of Aβ1–42 peptide determined by ELISA
- BACE-1 activity detected using a BACE-1 activity detection kit
- Centrifugation at 12,000× g for 15 min at 4 °C for Aβ1–42 peptide quantification
- PH 4.5 and 37 °C for BACE-1 activity measurement
- Standard Aβ1–42 for quantification of Aβ1–42 peptide concentration

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
