Tissue Temperature Monitoring in Mice

For tissue temperature recording, type T thermocouple probes and/or fiber optic temperature probe were implanted into the adipose tissue of mice under anesthesia (Urethane at 1.3 g kg⁻¹). Device implantation was performed according to the procedures described in previous studies^{10 (link),40 (link)}. Tissue temperature was recorded by TC-2000 Meter (Sable Systems International) or Reflex fiber signal conditioner (Neoptix). The Neoptix T1 fiber optic temperature probe has a response time of less than 500 ms and the size of the sensitive area is 300 microns in diameter. Temperature recording was initiated once tissue temperature was stabilized prior to light-pulses.
