The transmittance and transparency of the films were estimated using UV-vis spectroscopy, according to a prior study [42 (link),43 (link),57 (link)]. In brief, the films were cut into pieces of 1 × 2 cm2, and their transmittance was recorded at 600 nm using a UV-vis spectrophotometer (Model 8451A, Hewlett-Packard Co., USA). The results were presented as transmittance percentage (T600 %), and the film transparency (T) was calculated from Equation (1) [57 (link)]:
where T600 is a fraction expressing the amount of light transmitted through the film and t is the film thickness in mm.
