Newly sequenced mitogenomes from 42 diverse fish species were used in evaluating the performance of the MitoAnnotator pipeline. The extracted mitogenomes were amplified via the long PCR technique (Miya and Nishida 1999 ; Inoue et al. 2003a (link)) and sequenced with the Sanger sequencing technique.
