Tumor Transcriptome-Based Prostaglandin Profiling

The patient GBM tumor transcriptome data were stratified into four groups based on the ability or inability to synthesize the prostaglandins PGD₂, PGF₂, and PGE₂, as shown in Figure 8A. The ‘Low PG’ tumor phenotype was obtained by ranking the transcript levels to identify those tumors that were PTGS1_LOW and PTGS2_LOW, and/or HPGD^HIGH. PGE₂-generating tumors were AKR1C3_LOW, PTGDS_LOW, and HPGDS_LOW and comprised the prostaglandin-synthesizing tumors. The remaining PGD₂/PGF₂ tumors were divided into PGD₂ tumors (AKR1C3_LOW) and a PGF₂ synthesizing group (AKR1C3^HIGH).
