Ethylene glycol (EG), propylene glycol (PG), and butylene glycol (BG) were acquired from VEB LABORCHEMIE APOLDA. Polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400) was maintained from Morgan Chemical Ind. Co. Other chemical reagents and organic solvents were of analytical quality and acquired from Carlo Erba Reagenti. Amberlyst 15 used came from Alfa Aesar Co. with CAS no. 6192-52-5.
