- Scores on the General Anxiety Disorder-7 Item (GAD-7)
- Presence of major depressive episode and/or anxiety disorder (panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, or generalized anxiety disorder) as assessed by the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI)
- Participants being 18 years old or above
- Participants residing in Manitoba, Canada, with access to a cellular network
- Participants scoring > 9 on the PHQ-9 and/or the GAD-7
- Participants completing a psychodiagnostic mental health assessment (MINI) and pre-intervention survey before randomization
- Participants meeting criteria for a major depressive episode and/or anxiety disorder (panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, or generalized anxiety disorder) as assessed by the MINI
- Participants being available to attend weekly telehealth groups
- Participants being comfortable understanding, reading, and speaking English
- Exclusion of participants with a suicide attempt in the past year, self-harm in the past 6 months, and/or clinically significant psychotic symptoms, posttraumatic stress disorder, or alcohol/substance use disorder (identified on the MINI)
