Female BALB/cAnNCr mice between 6–8 wk old were purchased from the National Cancer Institute (Frederick, MD). Eosinophil-deficient dblGATA-1 (C.Cg-Gata1^tm6Sho/J) [19 (link)] and STAT6-deficient mice (C.129S2-Stat6^tm1Gru/J) on the BALB/c background were purchased from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME). IFN-γ-deficient mice (C.129S7(B6)-Ifng^tm1Ts/J) on the BALB/c background was obtained from John T. Harty (University of Iowa).
