Cell Culture Maintenance Protocol

293 T, HeLa, BJ-hTERT and RPE1-hTERT cell lines were obtained from ATCC. RPE1-hTERT TP53-/- cells were a kind gift of D. Durocher^{71 (link)}. All cells were maintained in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM) supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum (FCS, Sigma), 100 U ml⁻¹ penicillin, 100 μg ml⁻¹ streptomycin, and 2 mM L-Glutamine (Gibco, Life Technologies), at 37 °C in a humidified atmosphere with 5% CO₂. All cell lines were routinely tested for mycoplasma contamination and scored negatively.
