Dextran Sulfate Sodium-Induced Colitis Model

Dextran Sulfate Sodium Salt (DSS) Colitis Grade 36,000-59,000MW (MP Biomedicals) was added to the drinking water at a final concentration of 2% (wt/vol) and administered for 7 days. Mice were weighed every other day. On day 10, colons were collected for histology staining and lamina propria cells were isolation as described (Lefrancois and Lycke, 2001 (link)). Cells were kept for RNA isolation or flow cytometry. The colonic sections from mice were scored in a double-blind fashion as described previously (Abbasi et al., 2020 (link); Koelink et al., 2018 (link)).
