pET-21b, pET-22b, Luria-Bertani (LB) medium and carbenicillin were obtained from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA); isopropyl-1-thio-beta-D- galactopyranoside and Ni-NTA agarose were obtained from Qiagen (Gaithersburg, MD, USA); skim milk was from Morinaga (Tokyo, Japan); horseradish peroxidase-conjugated anti-human IgG or IgA antibodies was from Dako (Carpinteria, CA, USA); and SureBlue reserve TMB microwell peroxidase substrate was obtained from KPL (Gaithersburg, MD, USA).
