Isolation and Culture of Mouse Luminal Epithelial Cells

The mouse luminal epithelial cells were isolated as previously described (26 (link)). Briefly, the uteri were digested with sterile HBSS containing 0.3% trypsin and 6 mg/ml dispase for 1.5 h at 4 °C followed by 30 min at room temperature and 10 min at 37 °C. The luminal epithelial cells were cultured in DMEM/F-12 medium (Sigma-Aldrich) containing 10% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum (FBS, Invitrogen, USA). The epithelial cells were treated with recombinant HMGB1 (Sigma-Aldrich).
